Education that embraces you
Since 1910, the Groningse Schoolvereniging (GSV) has been a pillar of the educational landscape in the north of the Netherlands. For over a century, educational development has been cultivated here.
What makes GSV special is the expertise of its staff, the small class sizes, the individual attention given to each child, the strong involvement of parents, and the continuous innovation in education. At our schools, a close-knit and diverse community flourishes, where students develop into confident, curious, and resilient individuals who are ready to discover and shape their place in the world.
Tweetalig (Bilingual education)
At GSV Tweetalig, students are exposed to the English language from an early age, while remaining firmly grounded in the Dutch curriculum.
Hoogbegaafd (gifted education)
GSV Hoogbegaafd provides a stimulating learning environment for (highly) gifted children who want, dare, and are able to achieve more.
International Primary School
As the oldest international primary school in the north of the Netherlands, GSV IPSG has been a home to international families for generations, and offers a close-knit community on a green campus.
Our values
Adaptability is essential for growth. It allows us to adjust to change, learn from experience, and overcome challenges with resilience, without losing our core strengths and ambitions. Our school is continually evolving and growing to provide even better educational opportunities, extending beyond the academic curriculum to include soft skills, emotional intelligence, and lifelong learning strategies. Guided by a deep-rooted commitment to the children and families who make us what we are, we embrace new ideas, opportunities, and challenges, infusing them with our unique perspective and character.
The act of looking forward to the future finds its meaning in the ability to look back at the past, to appreciate the journey and the important lessons learned. Our school prides itself on maintaining this balance: with a legacy spanning more than a century in the city of Groningen, we combine a deep respect for tradition with a forward-looking vision that prepares pupils for the future. We approach each child with this grounded, dual perspective, supporting their present needs while positively influencing their future.
