Starting Monday, May 8, 2023, a School Street was introduced around the Groningen School Association and OBS Joseph Haydn. The School Street is intended to reduce traffic congestion in the area surrounding the school.
A pilot program was conducted by the municipality of Groningen from May to July 2022. This pilot program demonstrated that the School Street had a positive effect on traffic congestion and perceived road safety around the schools during peak drop-off and pick-up times, both for residents and parents of schoolchildren.
