In broad terms, the admission procedure for the Gifted (Hoogbegaafd) department proceeds as follows.

We believe it is important that every pupil is placed in the right environment. That is why our admission procedure consists of several clear steps:

1. Introductory Meeting

Parents and the pupil meet with the team leader of the Gifted Department. We get to know the pupil, discuss his or her strengths and needs, and provide a tour of the school. Together, we assess whether our department is a good fit for what the pupil requires.

2. Intelligence Assessment

An IQ score of 130 or higher is a requirement for admission. Parents arrange for their child to be tested by a certified professional (WISC-V or IDS-2). The costs are borne by the parents. We recommend consulting with the team leader beforehand so we can advise on a suitable assessment agency and guide you through the process.

3. Trial Day and Recommendation

The pupil joins a class for a trial day to experience whether there is a good connection with the teacher and classmates. Our quality coordinator reviews the pupil’s learning needs and consults with the previous school. Based on all findings, we decide whether we can offer the pupil a place in our Gifted Department. Parents will then receive personal notification regarding the admission decision.
