Life outside the classroom at GSV Tweetalig

At GSV Bilingual, learning doesn’t stop when you step out of the classroom. Through a wide range of activities, we make learning even more interesting and pupils continue discovering new things.

Visits to the school gardens

Every year, children take part in a garden project organized by NDE. They plant, care for, and harvest their own vegetables, learning about nature, sustainability, and healthy food. This helps them discover how everything grows and changes with the seasons.

Exploring the surroundings

At GSV, we use an integrated approach to the core subject areas (world orientation) through the IPC (International Primary Curriculum) program. The International Primary Curriculum is a comprehensive, thematic, and creative curriculum for children aged 4 to 12. It is built around a clear learning process with specific learning goals for each subject area. IPC is designed to help teachers make lessons as engaging, active, and meaningful as possible for pupils. The IPC curriculum also provides an international perspective. It helps children connect what they learn to how it can be applied in their own country, while also exploring the perspectives of people in other countries.

Holidays and celebrations

Throughout the year, we celebrate various holidays and special moments such as Sinterklaas, Sint Maarten, Christmas, Easter, the King’s Games, and Liberation Day. We also pay attention to international holidays. From creative celebrations in the classroom to shared activities throughout the school, there is always something to look forward to. In this way, we create a warm and festive atmosphere together.

Theatre and musicals

Every class has the opportunity to take part in a play, musical, or performance in our own auditorium. This gives children the chance to perform, build confidence, and create something special together.
